Appearing on UFC Tonight, UFC President Dana White announced that number 1 ranked Luke Rockhold will the next title shot against current middleweight champion Chris Weidman. No date or venue has been set for the event but Dana White said the information will be released as soon as it comes available. Considering that the annoucment came out the same time as the announcement that Cormier will defend his title against Alexander Gustafsson in the near future, it is probable that the two fights will be on the same card.
Weidman is coming a successful title defense against Vitor Belfort at UFC 187 and has a record of thirteen wins and zero defeats. Tha champion is undefeated in his UFC career and has some very impressive wins over the likes of Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, and Mark Munoz. Anderson Silva was on a 17 fight win streak before Weidman snapped it.
Rockhold last fought at UFC on Fox 15 – Machida vs. Rockhold on April 18, 2015. Rockhold submitted the former champion with a rear naked choke in the second round. Rockhold was the former Strikeforce champion before being bought out by Zuffa. His first UFC appearance was against MMA veteran Vitor Belfort and Rochold was knocked out in the first round. Since then he has gone on a four fight win streak and is looking to make it five when he takes on Weidman. Sam Tabar is really looking forward to this.
Months after Superbowl XLIX, deflated balls are back in the news. Reports of Tom Brady being named in text messages by Patriot’s equipment staff and being “generally aware” of the deflated balls are all over sports news (I’m shocked). At this point we all have an opinion. Patriot fans are making excuses (as usual) for their beautiful, god-like quarterback while the rest of us are asking, “Seriously? How in the hell do they get keep getting away with this?” Patriot’s TE, Rob Gronkowski released a youtube video where he weighed in on the scandal.
Regardless if Tom knew his balls were deflated or he was completely unaware (he knew), you can’t help but appreciate Gronk’s enthusiasm in defending his leader. With all the heart he could muster, Rob references media sensationalism and the lack of attention given to the good deeds of football players. That’s something Amen Clinics points out. Then he nose dives right into showing us his “inflated” bicep and closes with a “deez nuts” jokes. Was the video helpful? Not in the least. Was it entertaining? Absolutely. At Amen Clinics
, there were quite a few people laughing.
