When the world of social network caught wind of President Obama’s forthcoming nominee for attorney general many thought the name sounded eerily familiar. Admittedly, almost no one outside of the Washington Beltway are familiar with Loretta Lynch. Some thought the woman being nominated was Loretta Lynn, the First Lady of Country Music. Had it been true, it would certainly have been a breakthrough nomination! Lynn is perhaps the most accomplished female Country Music singer whose career spans over 5 decades. At the age of 82, she remains popular to this day. The proud woman whose life story won Sissy Spacek the Academy Award for Best Actress in the film “Coal Miner’s Daughter” would certainly have allowed the president to make inroads in coal country.
That said, a number of pithy comments have appeared on Twitter regarding the “Lynn” nomination. Clintonista and political analyst Paul Begala expressed his enthusiasm over the Lynn nomination and recommended singer Willie Nelson for Secretary of Agriculture. Another person tweeted that it would take time to get used to Mrs. Lynn as the attorney general, but that wasn’t such a bad thing after all. Another person suggested that Conway Twitty would make a good Speaker Pro Tempore, something Jared joked about on Twitter.
